His obsession with helicopters is hard to satisfy though because we don't have any books with helicopters in them or any toy helicopters. (I haven't been getting to DI much lately) So, he became quite resourseful and collected all the cross shaped things in the house (you would be surprised how many he could find in this non-catholic house). He carries them around and plays with them chanting "copter, copter" in a solemn tone. He also looks for them in the sky almost every time we go outside. His little ears are tuned to the frequency of copter motors (or anything that sounds like one including snowblowers) and insists we go outside to look in the sky any time we hear something with a motor.
All this was making me really sad since we only see a plane or a helicopter about once every two weeks. So the other day I decided to try and find a helicopter video on Youtube to show him. He loved it, of course. However, now the computer has a whole new light for Asher. It is no longer that annoying thing that takes mama's attention away from him, but now it something that offers a solution to his copter craving and for which he must compete with mama. What have I done?! This is a picture of him lit by the computer screen. Maybe if you look closely you can see little helicopters in his eyes.

Fortunately, today while we were outside enjoying the warmish weather a helicopter flew right over our house. Asher was almost speechless from excitement.
Thursday I shot my first wedding. It was pretty stressful because a lot of things went wrong for me in the hours before the ceremony, but overall it turned out to be a good experience. Asher stayed with his aunites and grandma in Farmington while I was gone and had a great time. I walked into their house after the reception to find Asher pantless on the counter with his cousin Luke crouching down, eating chinese noodles from their containers. It was obvious he was thrilled about it from his squeals and his dance moves. He didn't even seem that pleased to see me except for to have someone else to whom he could say "loodle-loo" (noodle).
